Strengthening hydrographic capabilities in Kiribati through training, collaboration, and capacity building
IIC Technologies is proud to have been contracted by Seismic Asia Pacific to deliver hydrographic surveying acquisition and data processing training to the Hydrographic Surveying team within the Ministry of Information, Communications and Transport (MICT), Government of Kiribati.
Led by Deborah Livingston, with support from Takhou Law, the training has equipped the MICT team to confidently operate their hydrographic surveying acquisition and processing software and apply these capabilities in-country.
Over the past few years, IIC has had the opportunity to work closely with MICT on a range of hydrographic and LiDAR surveys. It is encouraging to see their technical capabilities continue to grow, supported by structured training and hands-on experience. We are also proud to have supported their capacity development through education, including two MICT team members graduating from the 2024 IIC Technologies S-5B Hydrographic Surveying Program.
We look forward to seeing MICT apply their training and new systems in operational environments and to continuing our collaboration with Seismic Asia Pacific in supporting hydrographic capability development in the region.
