IIC ASV Mobilisation in Nova Scotia
posted in development by admin
In late July, IIC Technologies joined our industry partner, Leeway Marine, in Halifax, Nova Scotia to welcome the Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) “Viper” to the fleet.
A Norbit Winghead Multibeam system was installed and successful sea trials were performed. IIC Hydrographers spent the week calibrating survey systems and integrating the survey kit into the vessel.
The ASV Viper is an Oceanus 12 platform, which was designed by Zero USV in Plymouth, United Kingdom. This ASV is the first of its kind in North America and is designed for long-range persistent operations.
IIC looks forward to continuing this work with Leeway Marine and expanding the use of Autonomous Vessels for survey operations.
